Although India are hosting the tournament, this high-voltage encounter is being played in Sri Lanka. The BCCI and PCB agreed to hold their matches at neutral venues due to ongoing political tensions that prevent the teams from traveling to each other’s countries. However, the weather forecast for match day has raised major concerns, with rain likely to disrupt the big game.

As per AccuWeather, rain is likely to play spoilsport in Colombo on match day. There’s a 100% chance of showers during the day, which could last for nearly two hours. By night, the rain probability drops to around 61%, with about 1.5 hours of expected rainfall. This indicates a strong possibility of delays, and the match could even be shortened to fewer than 50 overs per side.

There’s also a slight possibility that persistent rain could wash out the entire match. In fact, the Australia vs Sri Lanka game scheduled in Colombo on October 4 was cancelled due to heavy rainfall, raising further concerns for this crucial encounter.
