Australia announced their ODI Squad for home series against India

Australia has announced their squads for the upcoming ODI and T20I series against India, starting on October 19.

Mitchell Marsh will captain Australia in the three-match ODI series against India, starting October 19 in Perth. The squad also includes Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood, two of Australia’s most reliable fast bowlers. Their return makes things even tougher for Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, who are set for their international comeback. With Starc and Hazlewood’s proven record against the Indian stars, the upcoming clash Down Under promises to be an exciting and high-intensity contest.

Australia and India are set to face off in three ODIs and five T20Is, with massive crowds expected at every venue for the eight-match white-ball series.

Left-handed batter Matthew Renshaw has earned an ODI recall for the first time since 2022 after an impressive run of performances for Australia A and Queensland. Meanwhile, Alex Carey will miss the opening ODI in Perth as he will be featuring in the second round of the Sheffield Shield for South Australia against Queensland at the Adelaide Oval.

Josh Inglis returns to the T20 squad after recovering from a minor calf injury, while Nathan Ellis makes a comeback following the birth of his first child. It’s important to note that Australia have announced the squad only for the first two T20Is, and the team for the remaining three matches will be revealed later.

Glenn Maxwell will miss the first two T20Is due to a wrist fracture he picked up during the New Zealand tour. Meanwhile, Cameron Green will continue his Ashes preparation with Western Australia after completing the ODI series against India.

Cameron Green will continue his preparation for the upcoming Test summer with Western Australia after the ODI series against India. The all-rounder, who has often troubled India in the past, has been included in both the ODI squad and the team for the first two T20Is.

“We’ve announced the squad for the ODI series and the first two T20Is, as player workload will be managed towards the end of the series, with some preparing for the upcoming summer through Sheffield Shield cricket,” said George Bailey, Chair of Selectors, in an official statement.

“The core of the T20 squad will stay together as this is a crucial phase in preparing for next year’s World Cup. At the same time, we’re balancing things to ensure some players are ready for the upcoming Test series,” said George Bailey.
