Asian Cricket Council confirms Dubai and Abu Dhabi as venues for Asia Cup 2025

Dubai and Abu Dhabi as venues for Asia Cup 2025

The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has officially announced that the Asia Cup 2025 will be held in Dubai and Abu Dhabi this September. All matches will start at 6 PM UAE time, which is 7:30 PM in India, perfect for evening viewers in the country. The tournament will take place from September 9 to 28.

During the 19-day tournament featuring 19 matches, there’s a rare scheduling overlap. On September 15, two matches are lined up: UAE vs Oman at 4:30 PM local time (6 PM IST), followed by Sri Lanka vs Hong Kong at the usual 7:30 PM IST. Because of this, both matches will partially run at the same time, creating an uncommon clash in the schedule.

India's group stage matches are set for September 10 vs UAE, September 14 vs Pakistan, and September 19 vs Oman. If India and Pakistan end up as the top two teams in their group, fans can look forward to a second showdown between the rivals in the Super 4 stage on September 21. The schedule for India’s other Super 4 matches will be decided based on their group-stage ranking.

ACC President Mohsin Naqvi has officially revealed the venues and match timings for the T20 Asia Cup, saying, “The schedule is out! Can’t wait to see packed stadiums and some unforgettable matches.”

In its statement, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) added, “With the top Asian teams ready to clash in one of the year’s most exciting tournaments, this announcement is a big milestone in our preparations. From iconic venues to passionate fans, everything is in place for some electrifying cricket action.”

Eight teams - India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, UAE, Oman and Hong Kong - have qualified for the tournament, to be played in T20 format. The final, on September 29, will be held in Dubai.

Production Still Undecided

As of now, the ACC hasn’t finalized a production company for the Asia Cup. In previous editions, Star Sports took care of production as well as broadcasting. However, with Sony Sports now holding the broadcast rights for the next eight years, it’s still unclear whether they will also handle production duties this time around.
